To this end we unite academic research and procedural practice, blending technical-theoretical knowledge with current jurisprudential tendencies which are relevant to the issues under analysis. Although our vocation and origins are deeply-rooted in Penal Law, our specialist field (c.f. link practice areas), in response to requests from clients we offer services in Civil Law (only in the field of civil responsibility and credit recovery). We also act in the field of Administrative Law (public civil actions and investigations, in particular for administrative misconduct, as well as disciplinary procedures against civil servants and self-employed professionals), which is closely related to Penal Law.
As for Penal Law itself, it must be recognized that this branch has been in constant flux in recent years, increasing its impact on people and businesses. New crimes and frequent changes to legislation, as well as the Anti-Corruption Law, have significantly multiplied the effects of criminal decisions, including those relating to property, to say little of not uncommon, serious damage caused to the reputations of those involved. All this demands new skills of the criminal lawyer, and poses fresh challenges.
We act in both judicial and extra-judicial fields, including permanent criminal counselling for businesses, with an end to preventing any future criminal charges of the kind that are common today. We assist in the setting up of compliance programs, whether in the creation of a specific department, or in the writing of manuals and codes of behavior for employees and collaborators, or in the counselling of compliance officers.
